My LASIK Journey

Studying is a magical activity where you keep telling yourself okay i need to really start studying today or else I'll be screwed for the upcoming exams but then after a few minutes you start coming up with stuff to do--anything--besides studying. So for this evening instead of spending all my studying time on reading chinese online novels (which has been the only thing I have been doing for 4 whole months), I remembered that I still haven't deleted that embarrassing blog I made in high school so I'm back here again.

I found this little entry lying around in my drafts since September 2014 and figured I'll post it out because why not:

I'm supposed to study in the UK end of this month and of course as dumb as i am the thought of doing eye laser surgery (LASIK) never occurred to me for a whole 8 months until 3 weeks before my flight. (Okay it did but i was too poor at the time but i have just recently received a lump sum of money by JPA which is the main contributing factor in me making this life decision)

My friend recommended me (ok not that she recommended but it was i who demanded to know) this centre where she did her LASIK last month. She did the 4th and also the latest generation of LASIK known as RELEX SMILE. What differs this method with the older generations is that it does not create a flap on the eye to laser out a part of the eye lens but laser a part of the lens first and then create a small cut and pulling out the thin piece of lasered lens ok i suck at explaining you should go watch animations of the process instead. The point is RELEX SMILE is believed to be less harmful to the eyes than other methods of LASIK.

So i made an appointment for an eye check and if my eyes are deemed suitable for LASIK, the surgery on the same day. (You need to lay off soft contact lens for at least 1 week) The doctor said my eyes are very dry but my cornea is thick enough to perform LASIK on. One important reminder is that make sure what credit card they accept easy payment plan (if they do) and not exceeding your credit limit (i made this mistake and had to call my credit card company and had to wait for an hour for them to increase my credit limit it was embarrassing) I changed into the surgery clothes and went in. Lied down and they dropped a lot of different liquid in my eyes. The first procedure is the laser part. The doctor warned me to keep looking at the dot in the middle for the whole 20 seconds and if i accidentally look elsewhere they had to stop the whole surgery altogether. It was pretty nerve wrecking and harder and i thought but i managed. The second procedure involves the doctor pushing and pulling the lens from my eyes and it can get pretty rough especially if your eyes are dry like mine because the lens can be quite stubbornly stick in your eyes and very hard to pull out. 

Unlike the previous generations, my eyesight is very blurry post surgery. The medical officers there gave me a bag of "goodies" which consists of 3 types of eyedrops i have to use 4 times a day. One of them for 5 days, one for 10 days and the last one is a lubricant eyedrop which i am instructed to finish the whole 2 bottles. They also gave me a pair of sunglasses to wear whenever the light makes my eyes uncomfortable as your eyes are more sensitive to light post-LASIK. The last thing they gave me is a pair of eye shields complete with some tapes to tape it on my eyes when i sleep to prevent me from rubbing my eyes unconsciously during sleep. The eye shield is pretty ridiculous but whatev. Quickly got home and slept a lot. At times i woke up from the burning pain in my eyes and had some ohgodwhathaveidone moments but everything is okay once i woke up in the morning. Eyesight i would say 85%? recovered and doctor said all iz well during my follow up visit.

Anyways, it's been like 3 years since the surgery and my eyesight is still perfectly fine although I do have a bit of astigmatism. Till now I still think ditching glasses and contact lenses is the wisest thing I have ever done in my life.

Umm...Hi?

One cup of coffee & I find myself coming back here. LOL it's more than a year since my last blog post. But I did tried to get myself to blog again several times last year. I get inspirations & start writing but somehow I would lost the steam midway & stopped writing. My draft folder is full of half written posts hahahaha.

Anyway, a brief update on my current life: I finished A-Levels and started living like a hobo oh wait I live in a house slacker/leecher/couch potato/NEET* since a month ago. My next stage of studying will probably start this July or September so I have more than half a year to do nothing. Everyday life mainly consists of sleeping & lying on the bed watching dramas.....and it is EVERYTHING I WISH FOR IN MY LIFE. ahhhhhh /rolls on bed happily/. Anyhow, due to reasons my family is not doing well financially and I'm not getting any allowances and my savings is drying up so I really should start finding a job soon but being the ultra lazyass I am, I'm still blissfully drowning in my nua lifestyle ahahahhaha OTL I'm probably the laziest person I know LOL. Oh and I was supposed to join my collegemates for a Taiwan trip yesterday but due to complications (no thanks to mom & dad's "support") and tight budget (dude I had to fork out an extra of at least a thousand ringgit or two if I were to go) I had to bid farewell to my friends and my RM1,200++ flight ticket T.T

I'd rather you not read my previous blogposts because I cringe A LOT everytime I read them. I even had the urge to delete the whole thing several times but I decided to embrace this embarrassing/shallow/overfangirling/trying-too-hard-to-sound-witty/funny/smart past of mine. At least I think I sound better now a.k.a. a bit more honest and not trying to hard to sound witty and funny even though it may bore the shit out of everyone. /awkward laugh/. I'm just glad people can't see my twitter archives (thank you twitter for making it confidential), no wait on second thought I do think I'm cooler on twitter than I ever will be on blogger (although my tweets are starting to sound annoying to non kpop fans since I'm starting to go all out on TVXQ fangirling on twitter), so to the only person who'll read this long meaningless essay of mine (read: AH CHING) (oh wait there's Wenyuh too, hi guys!!!), you'll be missing out a lot of my awesomeness if you don't start creating a twitter account and follow me by now D:<

Stay tuned for more of my rants -that no one in real life cares so I had to pour out here before I get depression and completely lost the ability to speak (which I think is almost gone by now)- these few days!

Revive Spell Casted!

Oh lol hi guys I'm back! Gonna start posting crap again because of the sudden comeback of the blogging craze among my friends especially a certain friend I would never have believed to be into blogging if I had not seen her blog with my very own eyes who has been secretly blogging behind our back! and also getting panicked over my increasingly rusty grammar. (omg my IELTS is done for D: )

But I think I still need time to adjust to blogging mood as these few years I have been quite obsessed in Twitter. Any twitterian would know that Twitter has this 140 words limit for every tweet so I learned how to not go round the block and get straight to the point. Thing is, I think now I had lost the ability to elaborate and to flesh out my thoughts. (lol I think I did a great job blabbering around so far)

After deciding to blog again during my very depressing semester exam period which I did not do too well (note to self: study harder for future important exams!!) inspirations keep coming in. But the problem is.......I forgot almost all of them. And...nah I have nothing else to say about this topic.

25/12/2010 -Merry X’mas! Besides the countdown outing with my friends, I spent almost my whole day replaying TVXQ’s Christmas Carols again & again ♥

26/12/2010 -Happy 7th anniversary TVXQ!^^ Really missed them... I secretly hoped that they would somehow reunite this year so they can celebrate their 8th anniversary together as 5 & laughed about this incident together by then =)

SBS Gayo Daejun: No comment, because I heard it sucked. No way am I gonna waste my time watching it.

KBS Gayo Daejun: It was alright. I get to watch it live, & I swooned at 2AM’s performances (especially on JoKwon’s version of “Baby”, he sang it a hell lot better than Bieber even without correct pronunciations! *ignoring his ugly hairstyle*)

MBC Gayo Daejun: It was good too. More polished performance & the least mike problems. Loved BoA’s performance & other singers who made a tribute to BoA by performing her old hits.

I also liked the idol band battle between FT Island & CN Blue, I’ve always wanted them to collaborate! ^^

It’s funny how the two AN Jell members reunite this way: both are idol band lead singers & both sang their hit songs titled “Love”.

Now it leads to 1 more question: What is the lead singer of AN Jell doing that night?

Answer: He was attending the KBS Drama Awards which he won the Best Couple Award with Wee Mary ^^ (Along with a few more couples…& my personal favorite: the NAMNAM couple Song Joongki & Yoo Ah In of Sungkyunkwan Scandal!! ^^ ^^)

And finally, JYJ are able to perform on TV (after much difficulties), they sang “Found You” of Sungkyunkwan Scandal OST. I was soooo excited!! ^^

I am fully supporting this comeback, because our beloved leader Yunho also suffered very much during TVXQ’s split…

J. Rich’s Kim Woo Joo, who’s been a friend of TVXQ’s Yunho for 10 years, revealed that Yunho suffered from depression when the group’s controversy first broke out.

He stated, “I became worried when I saw him drinking because of the conflicts between the members. Yunho usually only drinks maybe once a year, but at the time, he drank about 6 times a month out of depression.”

He continued, “I’m glad now that he’s gotten back up on his feet again.”

Regarding TVXQ’s comeback track, “Keep Your Head Down,” Kim Woo Joo explained, “Fans will be able to hear why TVXQ is unique.”

I think this Woo Joo guy is conveying a message telling the so-called “Cassies” who blamed Yunho as a heartless leader who let all this happen, that he is suffering too!! So stop blaming him!! T___T

So here, “mommy” Jaejoong smokes heavily, while “daddy” Yunho suffers from depression. SM, why can’t you grow a conscience & leave TVXQ alone??? =’(

My Holiday Life

ALERT: Blogging skill--RUSTED. Sorry for any inconvenience-injury in the eyes due to my sucky writing skills-caused.

During the holidays, I developed an interest of watching old movies, -thanks to PPS for making my life much, much more easier without the need to download or wait for the movies to BUFFER as I SUFFER A LOT through other stupid websites.

Okay, let's not get sidetracked here. Among the movies I watched, I love Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961) the best.

Guys, I’m telling you, this drama is really nice! Siwon is like, freakin’ hot & there’s one thing he have that some stars don’t:
HE CAN ACT! Yes. And his daughter in this drama is SOO cutee!! So, despite the badmouth I get from my friends about this drama, I’m holding my grounds firmly ^^

Sungkyunkwan Scandal

Hah, I’ve typed the word “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” for so many times I could type it blindfolded. I simply adore this drama. OK you’d got me, I love the boys in the drama xD

	Micky Yoochun: I’m a Cassie, so I support him in this drama naturally. I gotta say I’m surprised that his acting improved tremendously in this drama, but I hate his character here. Forgive me, but I hate his CHARACTER, not HIM. Hehe xD
Moon Jae Shin: I never had any so called “2nd lead syndrome” but I’m hooked on with him on this. I loved the fact that beneath that “crazy horse” (that’s his nickname) appearance of his, he has a marshmallow heart.
	Song Joongki: AHHH~~ My current addiction^^ The reason I’m obsessed with this drama is because of him!!! LOVE HIM!!! ♥
Jun Tae Soo: Although he is not one of the Joseom F4, I included him as well. Why? Because he’s hot ^^

With so many eye candies in this drama, what’s more to love?

My Girlfriend is a Gumiho (Nine-Tailed Fox)

Saving the best for last, MGIAG is definitely the BEST K-drama in 2010. Love Seung Gi’s adorableness & totally amazed by Min Ah’s acting. (I’ll stop myself from gushing over this drama because I KNOW I won’t stop if I start xD)

I haven’t finish watching this drama, but so far so good. It’s hilarious. I totally recommend watching. If you want me to choose, I prefer Lee Minho in this rather than Boys Over Flowers. Damn I hate that drama.

I Seriously Dunno How To React To This..

I know this news was 2 weeks ago, but I can't help myself..

SM Entertainment revealed on the 23rd via TVXQ’s homepage, “2011, TVXQ will be returning to you all.”

SM released a statement saying,

“After the 3 TVXQ members left, for over a long year, both U-Know Yunho and Max Changmin have refrained from musical activities.

The two members as well as the company wanted to keep TVXQ alive, thinking about the never changing hearts of our loyal fans who have waited a long time.

As indicated by the ruling, all of TVXQ’s activities need to be done through SM,
unfortunately, the three members that left have regretfully not responded to any
of our offers for activities as TVXQ. After long and careful consideration, we made this decision.

For U-know Yunho and Max Changmin, who never left and kept their dreams as TVXQ, we have decided together with the two members to keep TVXQ alive.

No matter what happens, we believe that TVXQ should continue for the love and trust of the fans who created TVXQ together with us.

We are not ruling out any possibilities in the future. Continuing TVXQ is the best way to repay the fans who love and waited for TVXQ.”

The two member TVXQ is scheduled to make a comeback in January 2011.

TVXQ comeback with only 2 members, I don't know if I should be happy or sad, but for now, I think I should just fulfill my duties as a Cassie & support them...
